Margaret M. Karren, Partner

Margaret joined the firm in 1992 and is a partner in Audit/Accounting with a specialty in nonprofit organizations. Margaret also has 10 years of private industry experience as a controller for an electronics manufacturing company. She provides audit and accounting, tax and general business consulting to nonprofit clients.

Margaret is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She attended Brigham Young University and graduated, with honors, from California State University-Northridge, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting Theory. She also attended the Golden Gate University Master of Taxation Program.

Margaret serves as a board member and audit committee chair for the Girls and Boys Town of Southern California and as a board member for the Women's Leadership Council. She is a former board member and currently serves on the advisory board for the Dubnoff Center for Child Development. Margaret is also a member of the LA5 Rotary Club.

Margaret chairs the firm's Nonprofit Practice. Services provided to nonprofit organizations include audits (OMB Circular A-133 and Yellow Book), reviews and compilations. Additional services include internal control studies, budget preparation, cash flow analysis and strategic planning. Margaret has been a guest lecturer for various organizations including Los Angeles Technology College, the University of Judaism, the Volunteer Center of Los Angeles and the Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education. She also leads the firm's quarterly nonprofit "Financial Managers' Forum".
