Deborah Gowdy, MSA, has over eight years of public accounting experience providing employee benefit plan audit services to clients. Deborah specializes in audits of defined contribution plans, including 401(k) and 403(b) plans, as well as defined benefit pension plans.

Deborah works with clients to streamline the audit process, ensure compliance with Department of Labor and ERISA regulations, and provide clear, proactive communication throughout engagements. She focuses on making the audit process as efficient and stress-free as possible while helping clients strengthen internal controls and improve operational efficiency.

Deborah serves clients across a range of industries, including nonprofit organizations and privately held companies. She has extensive experience working with plan sponsors of varying sizes, tailoring her approach to fit the unique needs of each engagement.

Deborah delivers timely, high-quality audits that meet compliance requirements and provide insights to improve plan operations. She builds strong relationships with her clients and acts as a trusted resource year-round.

Outside of work, Deborah spends time with her family, supports local fine arts programs in Phoenix and cheers on the Phoenix Suns. She enjoys reading and is an avid lifelong learner, always seeking new opportunities to grow personally and professionally.

Deborah is passionate about mentoring team members and contributing to a collaborative firm culture. She enjoys helping clients and colleagues alike feel empowered and confident in their work.

Prior to joining GHJ in 2022, Deborah worked for Semple, Marchal, & Cooper LLP, where she gained broad public accounting experience.

Deborah graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and later earned her Master of Science in Accounting.

Deborah is a member of the AICPA and is a CPA candidate. She is also a member of the Delta mu Delta International Honor Society in Business and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
