How do you help clients #BeMore?
I enjoy building relationships with clients and do my best to keep them happy through my responsiveness, knowledge and ability to explain complex issues. I am passionate about getting to know their businesses, helping them understand tax issues and assisting to ease their tax burdens.
How does GHJ help you #BeMore?
The ability to work anytime, anywhere has given me the flexibility to maximize quality time with family. I am able to travel to visit family out of town without having to miss work obligations.

What makes you get up in the morning, and how does it impact your work style?
My daughter is my main motivation, and my husband is my biggest supporter. Having them by my side empowers me to continue learning and be successful.
What is your proudest professional moment, and why?
My proudest professional moments are seeing others I have trained and worked with succeed. Empowering and teaching others is something I truly enjoy and value.
Katie Hettinger, CPA, is GHJ’s Denver Market Leader and brings over 15 years of experience in public accounting to her role. Katie specializes in tax planning and compliance for partnerships, S-corporations, high-net-worth individuals, family-owned businesses and closely held companies. She provides tax consulting and planning to businesses across industries, with concentration in food and beverage, waste and recycling, and health and wellness. In her leadership role, Katie oversees the Firm’s business activity in Denver and leads a team that partners with local clients to deliver services across advisory, tax and accounting.
Katie is also involved in GHJ’s coaching and training initiatives to assist in the facilitation of professional development and career goals. She is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs, regularly attends local conferences and helps to organize volunteer and women’s networking events.
Katie is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University. She lives in Colorado with her husband and daughter.
