Maria Shoemaker, CPA, has over nine years of experience providing advisory services to clients. As part of GHJ’s Transaction Advisory Services Practice, she works closely with corporate and private equity clients providing financial due diligence assistance through mergers, acquisitions and divestitures in an array of industry sectors.

Prior to joining GHJ in 2024, Maria worked at a Big Four accounting firm and a top consulting firm specializing in financial due diligence. She worked closely with targets from the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin American to provide financial diligence and strategic support in global transactions for multinational corporations and financial investors.

Maria earned a Master of Science degree in Accounting from Bentley University in Boston and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida International University in Miami. At Florida International University, she held a leadership position within the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) student chapter. Maria remains an active member in her local ALPFA professional chapter.

In her free time, Maria enjoys traveling, trying food from around the world, spending time with her family, volunteering at her local hospital and doing CrossFit. Maria is married, has two rescue dogs and lives in Miami.
