Masyn Burgess has over eight years of experience in public accounting and financial services. Masyn provides various audit and assurance, accounting and consulting services to clients in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors with a specialization in nonprofit organizations and governmental audits including private foundations, charitable organizations, research and development programs, museums, single audits, musical organizations and early childhood education programs.

Prior to joining GHJ in 2022, Masyn worked for a regional accounting firm in North Carolina in its Audit and Assurance as well as Tax Practices where she served clients across numerous industries including nonprofits, local governments, educational institutions, religious organizations, manufacturing and construction.

Additionally, Masyn has been an audit representative for GHJ’s Women’s Empowerment Cohort since 2022 and is a leader of GHJ’s outsourced audit team in India.

Masyn graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communications and a minor in Music. She obtained her Master of Accounting degree from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.
