Reed Bernet, JD, LLM, delivers deep expertise in tax services and tax due diligence for M&A deals. With over nine years of experience in tax structuring, tax modeling and transaction planning, Reed leverages his specialized background when working closely with buyers and sellers to achieve their optimal business outcomes.
Before joining GHJ in 2026, he worked at a Big Four firm and served entertainment, health and wellness, manufacturing and distribution, media and advertising, and private equity clients.
Reed, in his current role, advises leaders through every stage of their transaction and collaborates to drive the success of their deal activity.
He earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of California Irvine, School of Law and a Bachelor of History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Reed also has a Master of Laws in Taxation from NYU’s School of Law.
Outside of work, Reed enjoys time with his children. He also plays basketball and chess.

I most enjoy advising people through transactions, which can often be critical moments in their lives, and coming up with solutions to ensure they get the best possible result.
