On August 20 at 9:45 a.m., GHJ’s Nonprofit Tax Practice Leader Lizbeth Nevarez will join the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for its Annual Statewide Convention. Lizbeth will focus her session on safekeeping tax-exempt statuses and navigating California’s nonprofit compliance requirements.
Attendees will learn:
- How to track and master their annual compliance responsibilities
- The difference in requirements among the IRS, the Franchise Tax Board, the California Secretary of State and the Attorney General's Registry of Charitable Trusts
- Ways to identify compliance gaps before they result in costly penalties or audits
