GHJ Partner Yulia Murzaeva has earned a seat at one of California’s most influential accounting committees — and she is just getting started. Her recent appointment to the CalCPA Accounting Principles and Assurance Services State Committee began May 1. In this role, Yulia collaborates with peers across the state on initiatives aimed at enhancing technical expertise, strengthening the image of the accounting profession and fostering the next generation of CPAs.

State committees are highly selective and serve as critical forums for discussing complex professional issues, providing policy recommendations and promoting awareness of the varied services offered by CPAs.

At GHJ, Yulia leads the Northern California market hub and is a leader in the Firm’s Audit and Assurance Practice. She provides audit and consulting services exclusively to the nonprofit sector with a focus on serving clients in arts and culture, clinics and healthcare, and social services. Her market hub role prioritizes GHJ’s presence in Northern California and within its business community.

Further, Yulia oversees the implementation of new accounting and auditing standards, in which she spearheads audit quality and efficiency initiatives, as audit quality control lead at GHJ. She co-sponsors GHJ’s Women’s Empowerment Cohort, contributing to dialogue and initiatives on creating equal opportunities for women in the workplace, as well.

Yulia’s deep expertise and passion for elevating the accounting profession make her a strong addition to this prestigious committee.
