GHJ Leaders Recognized as “Most Influential Women in Accounting” by Los Angeles Business Journal

Annually, the Los Angeles Business Journal recognizes women accountants for their outstanding leadership and contribution to the accounting industry. This year, GHJ is proud to announce that Partners Polina Chapiro and Donella Wilson and Principal Anita Wu were recognized among LABJ’s Top 25 “Most Influential Women in Accounting.”

Polina Chapiro is a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee and head of our International Tax Practice. During her tenure leading the Tax Team, she has been a fearless driver of people and performance excellence. Chapiro has been instrumental in the Firm’s eminence both domestically and internationally. Known as a preeminent international tax specialist, she has been able to service clients with multinational operations allowing GHJ the opportunity to work with companies and industries that have expanded along with the globalization of the economy.

Donella Wilson is the partner leading GHJ Nonprofit Practice. She has over 20 years of public accounting experience providing audit and consulting services. Committed to ending homelessness for women, Donella is immediate past president and Board member of the Board of Directors of the Downtown Women’s Center and a member of the Southern California Grantmakers Corporate Leadership Council. She was recognized as a 2018 “Women Executive of the Year” and a 2017 “Most Influential Women in Accounting” by the Los Angeles Business Journal. In 2017, Donella was also the recipient of a Women to Watch Award, as well as the Trailblazer Award for her charitable activities, from the California Society of CPAs. In 2017 she was also honored as a Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN) “30-in-30,” a year-long celebration honoring 30 outstanding SCLN alumni throughout 2017.

Anita Wu joined GHJ in 2000 and has more than 20 years of auditing experience within the entertainment industry. Her specialty includes profit participation audits on behalf of talent, investors and co-producers at both the major and mini studios. She currently manages most of the audits at Walt Disney Pictures and Television and NBC Universal. Anita has also performed audits of merchandise licensing royalties and music royalties. An experienced accountant in the entertainment industry, Anita is a regular speaker and writer and was a co-author for the Firm’s 2017 Entertainment and Media Whitepaper.
