Sarah Avila, MSJ, CDMP, leads the Marketing function within GHJ’s Marketing and Business Development Department. With more than 15 years of experience in B2B marketing, business development and communications, she develops and executes strategies that strengthen GHJ’s brand, improve client engagement and drive firmwide growth.
Specializing in digital marketing, public relations and brand positioning, Sarah focuses on creating meaningful touch points that move prospects through the decision-making journey. She leads GHJ’s integrated marketing initiatives across content strategy, campaign development, social media, event marketing and advertising. Her oversight ensures a consistent and compelling brand experience that aligns with the Firm’s voice and business goals.
Sarah also collaborates with internal teams to translate strategic objectives into actionable marketing plans, including go-to-market initiatives for niche industries and service lines. She also works closely with GHJ’s Business Development function to support efforts and deliver customized materials that resonate with prospective clients. A problem solver at heart, she focuses on developing innovative solutions that enhance GHJ’s market presence, elevate thought leadership and improve client experiences.
She is a Certified Digital Marketing Professional and brings deep expertise in marketing for professional services, including accounting, legal and healthcare sectors. At GHJ, Sarah is a regular contributor to Firm content that advances diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA), in addition to tapping into her expertise in marketing.
Before joining GHJ in 2015, Sarah held senior roles in marketing and communications at Saint John’s Health Center and the John Wayne Cancer Institute. There, she served as Public Information Officer and oversaw media relations, internal communications and digital strategy for both institutions and their foundations.
Sarah holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
