GHJ Transaction Advisory Services Practice Leader David Sutton was named a finalist for the Los Angeles Business Journal and Association for Corporate Growth honor recognizing top professionals shaping the future of dealmaking in Southern California.

LOS ANGELES, CA – GHJ, a national advisory, tax and accounting firm, is proud to announce that David Sutton, partner and leader of GHJ’s Transaction Advisory Services and Private Equity Practices, was named a finalist in the inaugural Los Angeles Business Journal/Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Dealmaker of the Year awards. David was a finalist in the Due Diligence Professional of the Year category. This prestigious recognition honors leaders driving transformational deal activity across industries in Southern California.

The 2025 award marks the first year this honor has been given, and it spotlights a select group of due diligence professionals, private equity leaders, M&A attorneys, lenders and investment bankers making a significant impact across transactions.

Beyond his decades of experience and leadership, David approaches deals with a rare blend of operational insight, technical precision and calm under pressure. Business leaders across industries lean on his ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable guidance that drive confident decisions.

“As transactions become more complex and the stakes increase, David brings a clear head, a client-centric approach to solving challenges and a natural aptitude to lead,” said Anant Patel, GHJ’s Advisory Services Practice leader. “He continues to elevate our Firm’s role as a trusted partner in private equity and M&A and supports our national client base across institutional investors, family offices and more.”

David has led strategic deal advisory services for transactions ranging from $10 million to $3 billion and works intimately with private equity firms and privately held or founder-owned companies to support their success. Throughout transactions, he mitigates deal risk, aligns buyer and seller expectations and delivers actionable insights. A former aerospace engineer and Fellow Chartered Accountant, David’s highly analytical and client-oriented approach sets him apart in the M&A space.

“I am honored to be part of a Firm that so strongly prioritizes the long-term value we can bring to clients,” David said. “While I am grateful to receive this recognition, it is truly a result of GHJ’s focus on providing personalized, high-touch services that scale with our clients’ needs and the complexities that come with M&A activity.”

Under David’s leadership, GHJ has continued to grow its Transaction Advisory Services Practice and presence in the private equity sector. The Firm works with both buyers and sellers throughout the transaction lifecycle to guide clients toward a successful deal.

David is also a recent recipient of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Leaders of Influence in Private Equity and the Thriving in Their 40s awards.
