GHJ Accountants Named "Leaders of Influence: Minority CPA" by LABJ

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 13, 2023) – GHJ Advisory and Transaction Advisory Services Practices Leader Anant Patel, Real Estate Practice Leader Richard Wu and Private Foundation Practice Leader Stephanie Yan were recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal (LABJ) as “Leaders of Influence: Minority CPAs.” This was Richard and Stephanie’s first year recognized in this special issue and Anant’s fifth year recognized.

ABOUT ANANT PATEL

Anant is a Partner and the Advisory and Transaction Advisory Services Practices Leader at GHJ. An innovator in the dealmaking space, Anant has over 25 years of public accounting experience in the U.S. as well as his native U.K., and Anant leverages this extensive experience to advise buyers and sellers to achieve a favorable outcome for all parties involved.

In addition to his advisory work, Anant also serves on GHJ’s Executive Committee, guiding the Firm’s growth. He also serves as the Global Transaction Advisory Services Leader for HLB, an international advisory and accounting network that represents over 38,000 accounting professionals and includes GHJ among its member firms. Anant also serves on the Board of Directors for Step Up on Second, a nonprofit that works to support individuals experiencing serious mental health conditions and chronic homelessness through permanent housing solutions.

ABOUT RICHARD WU

Richard is a Partner and the Real Estate Practice Leader at GHJ. He regularly works with investment firms, family offices, developers and real estate management companies to ensure the business structure and investments are in accordance with their business operations and long-term goals.

Since his first role at GHJ as a college intern, Richard has worked his way up the ranks and now leads a dynamic team of real estate experts, and he is proud of the work he does to enable his team to achieve their personal and professional goals. Richard emigrated to the U.S. at age 5 and spent most of his childhood in the San Gabriel Valley before moving back to Taiwan for high school.

ABOUT STEPHANIE YAN

Stephanie Yan is a Managing Director and the Private Foundation Practice Leader at GHJ. For two decades, she has built a career serving clients. She is an active member of the Audit and Assurance Practice and regularly provides valuable business insights to clients.

One of her proudest accomplishments is moving from Shanghai, China to the U.S. after college and becoming a CPA. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in International Business from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Stephanie is also proud of the work that she has done at GHJ, serving clients and growing professionally while raising two children. Outside of the office, Stephanie volunteers as treasurer and co-leader for her local Girl Scout troop.
