GHJ Partner Recognized as One of the “Most Influential Private Equity Advisors” by LABJ

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 28, 2021) — GHJ, a leading accounting and advisory firm, is excited to announce that Anant Patel (partner and Advisory Services and TAS Practice Leader) was recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal (LABJ) as a “Most Influential Private Equity Advisor” for the third year in a row.

“Anant is at the top of his game,” GHJ Managing Partner Tom Barry said. “He sets the standard of excellence with his work ethic, and he is highly regarded by his peers as an industry expert and advisor.”

AT THE TOP OF HIS GAME

With over 25 years of public accounting experience, Anant leads both the Firm’s Advisory Services Practice and Transaction Advisory Services Practice and is a member of the Executive Committee for GHJ. He advises in the area of mergers and acquisitions and provides financial due diligence consulting such as quality of earnings, working capital analysis, EBITDA analysis and projections and deal structuring. Anant has assisted on deals ranging from $20 million to $500 million and is a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA).

He provides audit and accounting, tax and general business consulting services. His industry experience includes closely held companies in food and beverage, entertainment, media and technology, manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, consumer products and real estate. Many of Anant’s clients are owned by Private Equity Groups, VCs and institutional investors.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Anant led GHJ’s COVID-19 Taskforce, an initiative to better assist clients (including private equity firms) who are seeking guidance on how to navigate the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Main Street Lending Programs, PPP loans and SBA loans from application to forgiveness, along with numerous changes to tax laws. Under Anant’s leadership, the Taskforce also worked closely with clients to pivot their accounting needs, create an approach to fit the current virtual business environment and help implement sustainable practices for future growth.

Anant was also instrumental in creating GHJ’s Business Recovery Toolkit to assist clients with disruption caused by the pandemic. Using the Toolkit, he helped private equity businesses adapt and navigate complex legislation and safety regulations, and he leveraged various channels to provide updates and information to clients.

“I cannot think of a better person to receive this recognition,” Barry said. “Anant continues to inspire us daily, and his determination to provide proactive outreach and help clients find the best solutions to their problems helped GHJ step forward and take action during a difficult year.”
