LOS ANGELES, CA – GHJ, a national advisory, tax and accounting firm, is proud to announce that Partner and Nonprofit Tax Practice Leader Lizbeth Nevarez has been named a finalist for Nonprofit Advocate of the Year by the Los Angeles Business Journal. The award highlights individuals that support nonprofit organizations across Los Angeles through volunteerism, board leadership and advocacy beyond what is expected of them.

Lizbeth was recognized for her extensive in-kind contributions to nonprofit organizations through board service, governance leadership and strategic consulting. Her work has strengthened financial oversight, operational effectiveness and long-term sustainability for organizations serving vulnerable communities throughout Los Angeles County.

“This recognition is incredibly meaningful because it honors the missions of the organizations I have the privilege to support,” said Lizbeth. “Nonprofits are doing essential work in our communities, and I see my role as helping to deliver financial clarity and counsel to expand that impact.”
