Alex notes that a new piece of technology can render a “hard skill” obsolete, recalling a time when engineers and mathematicians had to perform complex calculations by hand. In contrast, critical thinking is considered a soft skill, but it will continue to serve as an essential skill, even as new technology is introduced. These skills stand the test of time, proving to be durable.
