Gina McLeod and Lizbeth Nevarez were recognized nominees in the fifth annual celebration of impactful women leaders in Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES, CA – GHJ, a national advisory, tax and accounting firm, is proud to announce that two of its partners, Gina McLeod and Lizbeth Nevarez, were official nominees of the LA Times’ 2025 Inspirational Women Leadership Awards. This award celebrates women redefining leadership across Los Angeles by exemplifying innovation and demonstrating resilience in their industries.
“Gina and Lizbeth are powerful forces for positive change,” said GHJ’s Managing Partner Tom Barry. “Not only do they drive lasting results for the clients they serve; they also empower others in the profession, in our Firm and across their communities.”
GINA MCLEOD: PROFESSIONAL SERVICES EXECUTIVE
As GHJ’s Tax Practice Leader, Gina has spent more than 25 years shaping the tax profession through innovation, team development and purpose-driven leadership. Since joining GHJ, she has scaled one of the Firm’s largest practices and fostered a high-performance team that supports clients across the country with complex tax needs. Gina is also a strong advocate for DEIA and working parents. She recently completed an extensive board role with We Are Brave Together, a nonprofit supporting mothers of children with disabilities.
“I am honored to be on the stage alongside such inspiring women,” Gina said. “This nomination is especially meaningful to me and demonstrates that success is not isolated to one’s career. Rather, it is made up of all the pieces of your life.”
LIZBETH NEVAREZ: INFLUENCER NOMINEE
Lizbeth leads GHJ’s Nonprofit Tax Practice and serves as the Secretary of GHJ Foundation. A first-generation college graduate and DACA recipient, Lizbeth uses her platform to build equity in the accounting profession and beyond. Her board service includes the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation and Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, and she co-sponsors GHJ’s Women’s Empowerment Cohort. She is also a trusted speaker and educator on nonprofit tax issues and a mentor to emerging professionals.
“To be named an Inspirational Women nominee is a humbling recognition of the values I strive to live every day — authenticity, resilience and service,” Lizbeth said. “I hope to continue paying it forward and helping shape a profession that embraces all voices.”
