Business by LA Times Studios recognized GHJ’s Anant Patel and David Sutton for their leadership, tactical precision and strategic foresight in supporting deal activity across the Los Angeles region.

LOS ANGELES, CA – GHJ, a national advisory, tax and accounting firm, is proud to announce GHJ’s Advisory Services Practice Leader Anant Patel and its Transaction Advisory Services Practice Leader David Sutton were honored as Private Equity and M&A Business Visionaries by Business by LA Times Studios. This award celebrates leaders shaping growth and driving stability throughout deals.

“Anant and David help buyers and sellers maximize their business’s value and achieve strong outcomes at every stage of a deal,” said GHJ’s Managing Partner Tom Barry. “But what really sets these leaders apart is their genuine investment in the clients we serve. Anyone in this profession can see a deal through. Anant and David are the advisors clients turn to when clarity and confidence are needed.”

ANANT PATEL

Anant, CPA, CM&AA, guides buy- and sell-side deals ranging from $20 million to $1.2 billion and advises privately held companies on all aspects of exit planning, preparedness and execution. With over 30 years of experience, he has honed a rare level of expertise and decades of leadership that help him deliver financial and business guidance during the transaction process. Anant is also deeply invested in mentoring the next generation of advisors and creating space to share the journeys of others that have defined their leadership paths. At GHJ, Anant leads the Advisory Services Practice.

“In a sector defined by constant change and unpredictability, success is often grounded in thinking beyond traditional boundaries,” Anant said. “The way we help clients is not to respond to external pressures or disruption but to anticipate they will occur before they even do.”

DAVID SUTTON

David provides expertise across financial due diligence, restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions to serve clients in both buy- and sell-side deals. His 20+ years of experience allows him to help buyers understand what they are acquiring as well as to support sellers in knowing what to expect during a deal before they encounter it. In addition to serving clients, David oversees GHJ’s Transaction Advisory Services Practice to provide guidance and leadership to the team of seasoned advisors working with businesses throughout the country.

“In my experience, I have found that diligence is about so much more than numbers, especially during intense stages of a deal,” David said. "What matters in the thick of the deal is who is in your corner and available to deliver guidance and support. When dealmakers need a trusted advisor, GHJ is there to see them through.”

Business by LA Times Studios’ list of private equity and M&A business visionaries showcases leaders guiding exits and acquisitions that strengthen the business community of Southern California and beyond.
