Yulia Murzaeva and Nisha Golcha were recognized by CalCPA for their leadership, mentorship and impact on the accounting profession and broader California business community.

LOS ANGELES, CA – GHJ, a national advisory, tax and accounting firm, is proud to announce that Partners Yulia Murzaeva and Nisha Golcha were recognized as nominees for the California Society of CPAs’ (CalCPA) 2026 Women to Watch Awards. The annual recognition celebrates women across the accounting profession that demonstrate exceptional leadership, mentorship and community impact.

Yulia was recognized as a nominee in the Experienced Leaders category, while Nisha was recognized in the Trailblazers category. Both women were highlighted by CalCPA for their influence within the profession and commitment to empowering future leaders in accounting.

“Yulia and Nisha each represent the future of leadership in accounting in distinct and meaningful ways,” said GHJ Managing Partner Tom Barry. “Their dedication to clients, mentorship, innovation and community impact strengthens GHJ and the broader profession. We are incredibly proud to see them recognized by CalCPA.”

LEADERSHIP ROOTED IN COMMUNITY IMPACT

As GHJ’s Northern California Market leader and a partner within the Firm’s Audit and Assurance Practice, Yulia has built her career serving nonprofit organizations and advancing audit quality initiatives. In addition to leading GHJ’s Bay Area growth strategy and working closely with nonprofit clients, she supports organizations like Mission Bit through Board membership while also serving on the AICPA’s Governmental Audit Quality Center Executive Committee and CalCPA’s Accounting Principles and Assurance Services State Committee.

“It is meaningful to be recognized alongside women who are helping shape a stronger and more inclusive profession,” Yulia said. “Throughout my career, I have believed leadership is about creating opportunities for others, supporting communities and helping people grow into their potential.”

Nisha, GHJ’s Corporate Tax Practice leader, was recognized for her impact as a tax strategist, thought leader and advocate for equity and inclusion. She co-leads GHJ’s Tax Technical Services group, which supports the Tax Practice’s quality control efforts, and serves as co-chair of the Firm’s BIPOC Cohort to foster representation and belonging across the organization. Nisha is also part of GHJ’s Strategy Committee and works closely with Firm leadership on emerging strategic decisions. She is an active member of the ACG Silicon Valley Chapter and a regular corporate tax speaker.

“I am honored to be recognized by CalCPA and grateful to work alongside people who value collaboration, mentorship and continuous learning,” Nisha said. “Creating access to knowledge and helping others feel empowered in their careers has always been deeply important to me.”

The CalCPA Women to Watch Awards recognize women who are making lasting contributions to the accounting profession through leadership, innovation, mentorship and advocacy. GHJ’s recognition alongside leaders across California reflects the Firm’s ongoing investment in cultivating an inclusive, people-first culture while supporting the next generation of professionals.
