GHJ Emerging Leader Selected for AICPA’s Leadership Academy

GHJ Emerging Leader Austin Hobson has been honored by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) as a member of the Leadership Academy’s 15th graduating class. Austin was one of only 36 CPAs admitted to the program and was selected based on his exceptional leadership skills and professional experience.

A member of GHJ’s Private Equity Practice, Austin specializes in working with businesses that are seeking funding from or have already obtained funding through private equity and venture capital. He has served clients through all phases of the business life cycle, from startups to founders who are progressing toward an exit. Additionally, Austin has been a member of the North Carolina Association of CPAs’ Young Professional Cabinet since 2022.

The AICPA Leadership Academy was designed to strengthen and expand the leadership skills of promising young professionals while they network with a peer group of talented and motivated CPAs. The four-day workshop features career-development workshops and sessions with some of the accounting profession’s most prominent influencers.

To date, more than 480 CPAs have participated in the AICPA Leadership Academy, many of whom have gone on to take on leadership positions in their firms, businesses and volunteer organizations. GHJ Beverage Practice Leader Maria Pearman and Denver Market Hub Leader and GHJ Foundation Board Member Sarah Flischel are among the Leadership Academy’s list of alumni.
