GHJ Leaders Nominated for CalCPA’s Women to Watch Awards

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 6, 2024) – GHJ, a national advisory and accounting firm, is proud to announce that three of our team members were nominated for CalCPA’s Women to Watch Awards. GHJ Nonprofit Tax Practice Leader Lizbeth Nevarez was nominated for the Trailblazer Award and Senior Manager Christina Fung and Senior Associate Natasha Vartanian were nominated for the Emerging Leader Award.

LIZBETH NEVAREZ

Lizbeth leads GHJ’s Nonprofit Tax Practice and serves as secretary for GHJ Foundation. Additionally, Lizbeth is a co-chair of GHJ’s Women’s Empowerment Cohort and has been recognized multiple times as a Leader of Influence by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Outside of her work with GHJ, Lizbeth serves on the board of several nonprofits, including the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation, which supports the socio-economic betterment of the greater Latino community of California while preserving the pride, values and heritage of Mexican-American culture, and Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, which provides free legal assistance to nearly 160,000 individuals and families throughout Los Angeles County every year.

CHRISTINA FUNG

Christina has become an influential voice at GHJ and a well-respected emerging leader, receiving two promotions in her three years at the firm and helping develop and nurture a strong team under her guidance. In 2023, Christina was named Young Accountant of the Year by the International Accounting Bulletin.

As a member of GHJ’s Forensic Services Practice, Christina conducts investigations and complex studies on behalf of clients. Her experience includes numerous complex issues including post-acquisition disputes, business valuations and lost profit calculations. Christina is also a co-chair of GHJ’s Women’s Empowerment Cohort.

NATASHA VARTANIAN

Natasha is a member of GHJ’s Audit and Assurance Practice and a promising future leader at the Firm. In the span of three years, Natasha has grown from intern to senior associate, and she continues to share her knowledge with her colleagues as a mentor to future interns and an accomplished audit professional.

Passionate about how technology can transform the future of the accounting profession, Natasha has dedicated her work to finding new ways to innovate audit work. As a member of the Audit and Assurance Practice’s SMART team, Natasha researches how technology can improve efficiency in the audit process.
