The Los Angeles Business Journal recognized GHJ’s Managing Partner Tom Barry among the 500 most influential people shaping Los Angeles business and community leadership.

LOS ANGELES, CA – GHJ, a national advisory, tax and accounting firm, is proud to announce that Managing Partner Tom Barry has been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s LA500 list for 2026. The annual list recognizes the 500 most influential people in Los Angeles based on their achievements and standing within the Los Angeles Business Journal Community of Business™.

Tom leads GHJ with a focus on intentional growth, operational excellence and long-term client relationships. Under his leadership, the Firm has continued to expand nationally while remaining independent and grounded in a people-first culture. He has also pioneered investments in tools that strengthen the Firm’s client support model and has expanded the diversity of services offered.

“It is an honor to be recognized among so many influential leaders who are helping shape the future of their organizations and the community within Los Angeles,” Tom said. “I have always been driven by a desire to put GHJ’s people, our community and the Firm’s clients first. That is what this award recognizes, but most importantly, what serves our people well.”

Beyond his role at GHJ, Tom is also the chairman of HLB North America and serves on the Executive Committee of HLB International. He is active on the Accounting Advisory Board for Loyola Marymount University, the Villanova Career Advisory Council and the Executive Committee for YPO - Pacific Coast Gold Chapter.

RECOGNIZING LEADERSHIP IN LOS ANGELES

The LA500 highlights leaders across industries including professional services, entertainment, finance, real estate, technology and nonprofit organizations. Honorees are selected for their impact on the Los Angeles business environment and their leadership within the broader community.

Under Tom’s management, the Firm continues to have a meaningful impact in the markets it serves by building a firm grounded in purpose, not external pressures. GHJ has also notably prioritized its commitment to succession planning with the appointment of two new Executive Committee members earlier this year.

“Tom’s leadership has helped shape GHJ into a firm that prioritizes excellence, authenticity and community,” said Mari-Anne Kehler, GHJ’s chief strategy officer and partner. “His vision for sustainable growth and meaningful relationships continues to strengthen the Firm, our people and the clients we serve.”

This is Tom’s eighth year on the Los Angeles Business Journal’s LA500 list and comes on the heels of his inclusion in the Forbes’ Best-in-State CPAs list.
