LOS ANGELES, CA (April 21, 2022) – GHJ, a leading accounting and advisory firm, is proud to announce that GHJ Foundation President and Chief Philanthropy Officer Donella Wilson has been named a finalist for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Nonprofit Executive of the Year award.

“Congratulations to Donella for her dedicated service to the nonprofit community,” said GHJ Managing Partner Tom Barry. “GHJ Foundation would not exist without her visionary leadership and commitment to serve the community.”

The Los Angeles Business Journal’s Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards, which took place on April 20, is an event that honors the work of the nonprofit community along with the corporate citizens and businesses that support them. During the ceremony, the Nonprofit Executive of the Year award recipient and other finalists were recognized due to their work as leaders of nonprofits who built relationships and partnerships with businesses, civic leadership and the Los Angeles community.

A recognized leader in the industry, Donella serves as GHJ’s Nonprofit Practice Leader. Harnessing her expertise, she was instrumental in establishing GHJ Foundation in 2020, which formalized the Firm’s efforts for purposeful and proactive giving.

As President and Chief Philanthropy Officer, Donella sets the leads the strategic vision of the Foundation. She plays an important role in guiding the GHJ grants committees in evaluating the grantees and setting fundraising priorities. In early March, Donella launched the Foundation’s fundraiser for the people of Ukraine, which raised $15,000 in less than two weeks.

“Donella is an exceptional leader and an expert in nonprofits,” Tom said. “What sets her apart are her passion and enthusiasm for helping the community and guiding GHJ Foundation to even greater heights.”

In addition to her involvement with GHJ Foundation, Donella has served in leadership roles for the Southern California Grantmakers Corporate Leadership Council and the Downtown Women’s Center Board of Directors (where she previously served as President). She is also an active member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

“It is an honor to be recognized among such outstanding community leaders,” said Donella. “Thank you to the Los Angeles Business Journal.”
