Two GHJ Partners Named Private Equity Leaders of Influence

David Sternberg, CPA, is an Audit Partner at GHJ and member of the Private Equity Practice. His consultative mindset and passion for developing and empowering his people have made him a crucial leader and mentor in the Firm.

David’s work conducting financial statement audits, reviews and compilations provides crucial insights into his clients’ operations. This is especially important in private equity, where one group may be responsible for tracking the performance of many portfolio companies.

Despite his audit specialty, David previously worked in advisory services, providing financial due diligence on behalf of clients. He leverages this experience when working with private equity clients to present holistic solutions.

DAVID SUTTON

David Sutton has deep expertise in finance, restructuring and mergers and acquisitions. He leads GHJ’s Private Equity Practice, whose client base ranges from small family offices to established multi-disciplinary funds, and was promoted to partner in 2023.

An expert in mergers and acquisitions, David regularly advises clients on strategy, executes transactions and builds value before and immediately after a sale or acquisition. He leads transaction-related projects including Quality of Earnings, working capital analysis, forecasting and deal structuring.

David is also a leader of GHJ’s Business Resiliency Taskforce, driving the direction of GHJ’s content by identifying the trending topics clients should know. He has been published in GHJ’s blog and L.A. Times B2B Publishing and hosts the Business Disruption and Resilience Podcast.
